Hello! I am Dr. Mike. I serve as the Head of School for PCA. I have been at PCA for three years. I married my high school sweetheart, Karen, and we have been married for 40 years. We have three children and six grandchildren. Before coming to PCA, I served ten years at Welch College as Director of the Welch Fund and adjunct faculty. Before that, I spent 22 as a senior pastor, serving in four different churches. My undergraduate degree (BA) is from Welch College (1995). In 2020, I graduated with a Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I also earned a Master of Divinity from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (2011) and a Master of Arts in Ministry from Indiana Wesleyan University (2007).
Hi! I am Wendy Langley. I am an administrative assistant at PCA (FCA), where I have been since 2009. I have been married to my best friend, Gene Langley, for 31 years. We have three children and four grandchildren. Two of my three children graduated from FCA. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty University in December 2022. I plan to continue working towards my master’s degree in Christian Counseling.
Hello! I’m Karen Edwards. I am the “snack shop lady” or “Mrs. Karen” at PCA. I have several other duties, including janitorial, kitchen, and substitute teacher. I help where needed. I previously served as the Daycare Coordinator at Pursuit. I have been married to Dr. Mike Edwards for 40 years. We have three children and six grandchildren (more on the way). I love being Grams. Before coming to PCA, I managed Common Grounds (the snack and apparel shop) at Welch College, Gallatin, TN.

Hello! I am Ms. Crystal. I am a kindergarten teacher at PCA and completing my fourth year. I have two children. Before coming to PCA, I worked for Florence 1 Schools for 15 years. I taught kindergarten for seven years, 4K for seven years, and first grade for one year. I also homeschooled my two children for the two years before we came to PCA. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Francis Marion University.
Hi! My name is Stacie Evans. I am the first-grade teacher at PCA. I have taught for 22 years (20 years in Christian education and 2 years in public education). I also serve as the director of the children’s ministry at my church. I have two children who also attend PCA. I earned an undergraduate degree in early childhood development from South Carolina State University and two master’s degrees: Elementary Education and Curriculum Instruction in Reading.
Hello! I am Connie Chappell. I teach second grade at PCA. I have been at PCA for 15 years. I have been married to Paul Chappell for 45 years. We have five children and fifteen grandchildren. I have been in education for 41 years, six of which were as assistant principal at Christian Assembly School. I graduated from William Jennings Bryan College with a degree in education. My certification is in kindergarten through third grade and first through eighth grades.

Hi there! My name is Tori Anderson. I am so excited to join the PCA family as the third grade teacher. My journey in the classroom began in college at All Saints Episcopal Day School as an after care teacher and substitute. After graduating from Francis Marion University, I was a regional sales manager at Vulcraft until having my second child. I was then blessed to stay home with my children for 4 years. Most recently I have worked in the classroom for FSD1. Children have always been a passion of mine and I am so grateful The Lord has blessed me with this opportunity. I am looking forward to an awesome year!
Hi! My name is Myra Bates. I’m excited to be starting my 2nd year with the PCA family as the 4th grade teacher. I was born and raised in Florence county. After high school, I attended Welch College in Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor of Science, major in Bible and combination major in Church music and Christian education. I have taught in Christian schools in Cleveland and Dayton Ohio. Since moving back to SC, I have taught music and private piano, and most recently high school choir at PCA. I am married to Dr. Denny Bates. We live in Florence and I am the pianist and choir director at Mt. Elon FWB church in Pamplico. I have two adult children, Michael and Marisa Leonard. I have long had a heart for Christian education. We have a unique opportunity to help mold these precious students and teach them how to live for God and find His purpose for their lives.
Hello! I am Alex Crawford, the 5th Grade teacher at Pursuit Christian Academy. I am married to Camille, and we have a 6-year-old son attending PCA and a 2-year-old daughter who will attend soon! In my spare time, I love spending time near the water and with my family—bonus points when I can do both. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Youth and Family Ministry from Welch College and completed my Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education from Liberty University. This will be my 5th year of teaching, and I am very excited to grow as a teacher and help your students succeed in their education and develop their relationship with the Lord.

Hi! I’m Tracy Springs, the sixth-grade teacher at Pursuit Christian Academy. I am married with two boys, both of whom attend Pursuit. In my spare time, I love reading about history and visiting sites of historical significance. I earned my Bachelor of Science in History from Liberty University. I have completed elective courses in Curriculum Evaluation and Methods of Effective Instruction at the graduate level. I am working toward a Master of Arts in History.
I serve as an educator for the seventh and eighth-grade classes for PCA. I am ACSI certified in teaching K-12 and school counseling. I have over 23 years of experience consulting, educating, and counseling youth and adults in various school districts, universities, and health facilities. I have been at PCA for four years. I am married to Shawanda Singletary (high school educator for PCA). We have two daughters (twelfth and eleventh graders at PCA) and have been married for 21 years. I have been a licensed Minister (Ordained Pastor) since 2004. Before coming to PCA, I was an educator/facilitator for Heritage Community Services Risk Avoidance Program, a therapist for Pee Dee Mental Health, Willowglen Academy PRTF, and Growing Homes Southeast, as well as a substance abuse therapist for Turbeville Correctional Institute. My undergraduate degree (BS) is in Psychology, obtained from Francis Marion University (2000), with dual honors—inducted into Psi Chi and Pi Gamma Mu. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri (2002). I am a decorated Army Combat Veteran.
Hello! I am Shawanda Singletary. I serve as PCA's High School teacher. I am ACSI certified in teaching K-12 and school counseling. I have over 18 years of experience in human services, providing treatment, and educating families who DSS child and adult protective services served. I have been at PCA for nearly five years. I am married to Rodney Singletary (middle school educator for PCA). We have two daughters (11th and 12th graders at PCA) and have been married for 20 years. Before coming to PCA, I was an Adult Protective Services Supervisor for the Department of Social Services and have since retired. I also worked for the Department of Disability and Special Needs Board. As a supervisor at DSS, I edited case managers; court orders that attorneys and judges in the Pee Dee Municipal Courts read. I have been a licensed Minister (Ordained Pastor) since 2011. My undergraduate degree (BS) is in Psychology, obtained from Francis Marion University (1998). I facilitated training for the Department of Social Services at Florence Darlington Technical College and provided training for case managers at DSS.
